OCA Global supports the Government of Lebanon to promote sustainable forest management

OCA Global's Consulting and Technical Advisory Division has launched this month the World Bank-funded "Technical Assistance to Promote Sustainable Forest Management to Address Forest Fires in Lebanon" project.

This eight-month initiative will help strengthen the national framework for the effective implementation of Lebanon's forest strategy and policy, including the National Forest Fire Management Strategy (NFFMS) and its early warning system.

The main output will be to provide the Government of Lebanon, represented by the Ministry of Environment, with relevant documents on NFFMS implementation gaps and opportunities and on sustainable forest management, with an analysis of available forest data and information through stakeholder engagement to contribute to the improvement of the legal and regulatory framework.

The project will also focus on capacity building and knowledge sharing at both national and regional levels to strengthen sustainable forest management and forest fire management.
