OCA Global provides Technical Assistance for the development of Renewable Energy projects in Mozambique

Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) has received funding from the French Development Agency (AFD), delegated by the European Union for the cost of the Program for the Promotion of Renewable Energy Auctions (PROLER). These funds are intended for the preparation of a program of wind and solar photovoltaic projects to be developed through an Independent Power Producer ("IPP") scheme. It is proposed to use part of the funds to finance this EDM Technical Assistance project for the development of renewable energy projects (solar and wind) through a competitive process in order to attract private investors and develop renewable energy projects at the lowest cost.

OCA Global will lead the Technical Assistance and focus on supporting EDM and the Energy Regulatory Agency of Mozambique (ARENE) in the implementation of the last 3 projects of the PROLER program: Two medium size solar PV power plants of 40 MWp located in Manje (Tete province) and Lichinga (Niassa province) and one medium size wind power plant of 40-60 MWp, located in Jangamo (Inhambane province).
