The Generalitat de Catalunya announces grants for the implementation of environmental management systems in companies

Voluntary environmental management systems are tools to improve the environmental performance of organizations, as well as to promote companies to be efficient in the use of resources and minimize their impact on the environment.

In this sense, with the aim of promoting the voluntary system of environmental management and environmental audit EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) promoted by the EU, the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Generalitat de Catalunya has called for grants to implement or renew EMAS systems in organizations and companies.

These grants are aimed at public or private companies, foundations or other non-profit organizations and local authorities that have implemented an environmental management system (EMS) based on the EMAS Regulation and have made a commitment to continuous improvement, verified by independent audits, or have renewed the one they already had in place.

The aids foreseen in this Resolution amount to 90,000 euros in total. The deadline for submitting the application at web.gencat.cat/es/tramits is June 20, 2022.
